General Conference and thankfulness

Today I woke up without an alarm to the sound of chirping birds and a gentle breeze through my window. Today is the first day of two, where we get to listen to our prophet and apostles speak at General Conference. What a great blessing! My heart feels overwhelmed with how blessed I am. I am thankful for my family, for my friends, for the gospel, for my health, for my education, and for the beauties of nature.

Spring break with winter weather

This spring break was probably my most memorable and exciting. Long car rides, wedding dress shopping, and seeing my family made the week pretty busy.

I went to Salt Lake City with a friend to look for my dress. I had two days to find a dress before my flight left for Oregon.  I had a few ideas about what style I liked, but I still wasn't very familiar with wedding dress lingo. The first place we went to, Gateway Bridal and Prom, had such an amazing selection of modest wedding dresses! They were all so beautiful! I tried on a lot, but none seemed to be what I had imagined my dress to look like. A little down, but trying to stay optimistic I got dressed in my street clothes and was about to leave when they brought out another dress and said I should try it on. You may like or dislike a dress on a hanger, but until you put it on, you never know for sure if it is "the one." This last dress was it! 

Then Sam and I caught our flight to Oregon. That night our little town received about 4-5 inches of snow, which is very uncommon. Our whole town was without electricity for most of the next day. And school was cancelled the whole time we were there. Snow Day! So Jacie, Jaden, Sam and I all bundled up and played in the snow.
